In this the 17th edition of Civil Service Quarterly, we consider the role of cross-government functions in supporting improvements in the delivery of policy and services. For example, we look at how the Commercial Function helped government tackle the collapse of Carillion; and how collaboration between multiple departments and agencies was critical to the clean-up after the Salisbury nerve agent attack.
